This review is part of the Second Annual Natural Parents Network Holiday Gift Guide!
If you need to complete your holiday shopping, find a birthday present for a friend, or just treat yourself to something special, the NPN Holiday Gift Guide has something for everyone. But what's even better, the NPN Holiday Gift Guide is a great opportunity to shop consciously and to support many naturally minded small businesses.
The 55 companies that have provided items for review and giveaway are almost exclusively made up of work-at-home shops or companies that are dedicated to supporting eco-conscious choices. I'm featuring one of those companies in my review below. When you get done reading my review, please click on over to the full Second Annual Natural Parents Network Holiday Gift Guide, where you'll find information on 58 products. In total, we're giving away goodies worth more than $2500!
Even if you don't win one of our fabulous prize packages, please consider spending part of your gift-giving budget at one of these small businesses. By supporting small businesses, you are helping families, boosting local economies, and supporting ethical practices of manufacturing, production and selling. Take advantage of coupon codes provided by many of the companies, you can find them at the full Gift Guide at NPN. To make browsing easier, we've split the Gift Guide into sections with products that are Perfect for Kids and Perfect for Families. And you can find all 6 Rafflecopter widgets there, too.

This is a Joint Review and Giveaway of the 3 Month Story Subscription from Sparkle Stories between Natural Parents Network and Sparkle Stories.
About Sparkle Stories
Sparkle Stories is a resource for original high-quality online stories. Sparkle stories are designed to be fun for kids and adults, and encourage imagination and creative play. With a subscription to Sparkle Stories, you will get new seasonably appropriate story magic each week, to be enjoyed online or downloaded and taken with you wherever you go!
We were having a rough time after nap time. Lots of need for snuggles, with both kids wanting to be on my lap. So I suggested we listen to this week's new So Many Fairies story. Like magic, our moods were calmed, and one by one, we drifted over to the art table (where I had set the computer) to listen and draw. I love the original stories at Sparkle Stories, because they are never tense situations. I also appreciate that once we receive our weekly story, it is ours to keep, even if our subscription runs out.
What surprised me the most about our experience was that Moira drew the whole 20 minutes we were listening. She actually has a very hard time with wanting her pictures to be perfect, and her pen control not keeping up with what's in her head. Most of her pictures are Abstracts so that she doesn't have to fight with herself about that, but while we were listening, she drew this picture of some friends walking at night (complete with story, which I can no longer read).
And then! She turned the paper over and drew another picture of friends during the day! She asked me for ideas of things to add, and then she added those things! Compare that to when she was trying to draw a princess the other day and was reduced to tears because all her pictures were wrong and "not pretty enough!" I think Sparkle Stories and family drawing time will become a regular part of our weekly rhythm.
You can purchase your own Story Subscription at Sparkle Stories starting at $7 per month for a one story subscription. Multiple package options are available, and you can even buy gift subscriptions!
