This is a Joint Review and Giveaway of the Ergobaby Swaddler from Ergobaby between Natural Parents Network and Pineapples & Artichokes.
About the Ergobaby Swaddler
It might seem a little silly that I offered to review a swaddler blanket, since my "baby" is almost 2. Fortunately, some good friends were about to have a baby. Everyone, meet Cameron, at the time of this photo, 6 days old.
So, my experience with this swaddler was limited to admiring a totally cute baby in it for a few minutes. I did swaddle both of my kids though, Davis wanted to be swaddled for what seemed like a long time and I think this swaddler would have fixed the problems we had with him. I loved the roomy pouch for kicking, and the arm pockets look like they would have kept him from punching himself in the face multiple times each night. I also think it would have made middle of the night diaper changes easier, since you can leave the arms in and just flip the leg pouch out of the way.
Here, Cameron shows off his awesome kicking skills. We think he might be a little too small for the pouch part to be full effective. This size is supposed to fit babies from 6-12lbs, and he is about 8lbs, but we had to put the blanket on the tightest settings possible, and there is a little too much space around the elastic at the top of the pouch, so he can kick it off super easily. I suspect that when he's a little bigger, that problem with go away. Despite being very good at unswaddling himself, his parents report that he cannot get his arms out of this one.
My friend has been having a little problem with nursing, and so she has been trying it while Cameron is swaddled. She was worried that this swaddler would be too bulky (see my above point about it being a little too big for him) but the Ergobaby Swaddler worked perfectly.
Now that's a happy milk fed baby.
You can purchase your own Ergobaby Swaddler at Ergobaby for $45.99, for a pack of two. Ergobaby is a trusted name in baby wearing, and their products are always top notch quality. I have been wanting to get one of their little doll carriers for Moira for years, maybe this Christmas!
