The last few weeks have been really long and tiring for Moira and me. With the teething, and going to one nap a day, and Moira's seeming inability to nap for longer then 1.5 hours no matter how tired she was, the days were getting progressively harder and harder. You know things are bad when the baby is so tired when she wakes up from her nap that she fusses to get down when you hold her, and then when you put her down fusses to be held, fusses when you read the book she brought you to read, fusses when you try to wash the blueberries before you give them to her and throws a screaming fit when you try to give her the wrong cup.
But! Yesterday there was a nap that was over 4 hours long. I had to wake her up so we could have dinner, but she was happy the rest of the evening, and is still pretty happy today. She's been playing by herself again for longer then 5 seconds. She is reading her books again, not just throwing them across the room. She is giggling. She woke up a few times during that nap, but went back to sleep pretty quickly. Her nap today was only about 2.5 hours long, but that included me taking her out of the car (asleep) and getting her settled back down after we got to the bedroom.
I know this is only a temporary relief. In a few days another tooth will start coming through or something and there will be more tears and tantrums, but while this lasts, I am going to enjoy it as much as possible.
