I'm happy that it's not as unspeakably hot today as it was yesterday. We are currently hanging out outside, which was not possible yesterday without risking heat stroke. I filled the water table up with fresh water, so Moira could use her cups to drink/spill half of it immediately. This is a learning thing, right? She practicing drinking from a cup, without Mom taking it away the minute she starts dribbling it down her front.
Bonus! Our silly, fluffy dog who has been ignoring his water dish (and the lovely cold ice I drop in it periodically) can drink from the puddles that form around Moira while she plays!
We went to the library today to escape from the heat before naptime and were randomly there in time for story time, which was not only free story time, but specifically targeted at young toddlers (1-3). It was our first time trying a library story time out, I've heard bad stories about large groups and older kids, but this was perfect. Moira loved the songs and stuffed animals for the first 10 minutes or so, then she wanted to see what was in all the purses. This was the last one of the summer series, and the librarian said it starts again in September, but getting information out of the KCLS website about scheduled activities is ridiculously hard. I will have to try again later.
