I think my days of being able to plop Moira on the floor and walk away are coming to an end. She now flips from her back to her tummy almost as soon as I put her down, at least during the day. She has yet to do this while Walker is home, despite doing it so often yesterday that she got really annoyed at always being on her tummy.

Get out of my eyes sleepiness!
After not sleeping much when people came over last Sunday (because, OMG people are talking! And doing things! And breathing loudly!) she seems to have realized that she doesn't need to sleep 20 hours out of every day (the average 3 month old sleeps 15 hours a day). This is good because it means she's not trying to nap every half an hour for 20 minutes, and instead has settled into two 1.5- 3 hour naps a day, plus a smaller one in the evening (because Daddy is home! And the dog is loud! And I like parenthesis!). This is bad because she has decided that it would be fun to be awake at midnight. Also, very suddenly, the swaddling blanket is evil! Well, the blanket is fine, the swaddling is not fine. Walker and I are taking turns getting up with her when she wakes up after the original bedtime falling asleep wide awake and cooing.
Oh, did I mention the cooing? Super cute. She mostly coos when she's happy but fighting sleep. It's absolutely adorable, and at the same time, really annoying at 11pm.

Important moments in wiggling, and an oops
Over the last few days, Moira has started to wiggle around on her blanket so much that she ends up in a different spot then she started in. Also, she can now get 3/4 of the way over from her back to her front reliably and has managed to flip all the way over twice. She gets really angry when she flips herself onto her tummy though, I guess it's much harder to wiggle that way.
On Sunday we had friends over, and at the end of the evening, Moira was showing off her fist munching skills. While we people were staring at her adorableness, she managed to shove her finger up her nose. Unfortunately, Walker did not arrive in time to get a picture. I'm sure she'll do it again though.

Thank you firesika!
This is a rough approximation of a conversation I had with
firesika the last time she called.
Her: I just sent you a package.
Me: That's nice of you, thank you.
Her: You have to take a picture of it when it gets there.
Me: Ooookay. Let me write that down, my brain is a sieve.
Her: You don't need to write it down. When you see it, you will remember.

Each of those stamps is 75 Kwacha (about 54 cents US), the largest stamp the post office sells.
Inside there was cumin and whole vanilla beans from Tanzania, a huge green scarf and a wrap thing (the Tanzanian version of the Malawian sarong type thing), also green. Plus a letter which I read out loud to Moira, even the swearing bits.

Done! Yay!
I finally finished Moira's quilt. She enjoyed looking at the animals on the back while I finished up the binding and the label. Now she can spend all her time drooling on it. Such fun.

Cute, but also strange
Moira loves to stare at the Google logos on Walker's shirts. The multi colored ones are the most interesting, but the white and black ones are okay in a pinch. How much do you want to bet that Google is the first word she learns to read?
Also, will someone please zerbert her tummy? She needs it bad.
