"So, when are you moving back up here?"

The really unamusing part of having moved is getting to answer that question all the time. There are only a couple of really bad offenders who like to ask it every chance they get, and sometimes repeatedly, just to try and annoy me more. Well, we kind of have an answer for you.

Walker will be in Seattle next weekend. He will be on call during that time. Walker says:
"This is part of demonstrating I can do my job from Kirkland. The actual time line for such a transition is still up in the air, depends on a lot of factors, and will happen very quickly when it does happen."

That's all we know for now, when something changes, there will be another update similar to this
one.

I actually finished this.

Dress for weddings

On time even, and although there are a couple of minor changes I need to make to it, I'm fantastically happy with it. The pattern company is Italian and I've never tried a pattern from a non us manufacturer. There were no seam allowances, and the pattern markings were different then what I'm used to. Despite the fact that I couldn't figure out how it all went together without actually basting the pieces together with the pattern pieces attached, it went together really quickly and easily. It looks much better on me then on the mannequin. In fact it looks so good that after I got ready for the wedding I spent a few minutes staring at myself in the mirror thinking "I look hot!"
The straps are a tad too long, which I kind of expected, but I decided I didn't care when I was attaching them and that I could always fix it later. The straps in the back ended up being much wider then necessary for reasons I haven't figure out, so they are gathered, so hopefully in the next week, I will disassemble the and redo the back so that it lies flat, and shorten them a little so I can go to the next wedding without flashing bra at all and sundry.
Jacket to go with the dress

My main problem is the jacket. I always want to be a jacket person, but I just don't think I am. Also, I forgot to account for the extra fabric in the pattern for the button placard on the front, which I wasn't using. And the sleeves are too big. I'm trying to decide if I would actually wear it to the wedding in October, or if I would just take it off right away. Maybe I can wait and fix it in time to wear to the Google Christmas party.
