Stewie at work
Last weekend, I was playing on the computer, and Walker was watching racing. Stewie came in and sat in Walker's desk chair for a good half an hour, just staring at me. He even let me take pictures. It wasn't until I called Walker in to look at him that he moved.
What I finished this summer
Here are the quilts I have finished in my never ending project to make quilts for all the under-aged people in my husband's family.
For my husband's 12 year old sister. Her favorite color is purple, and she's a tomboy. This turned out smaller then I thought it was, once I hung it up to take the picture, and she has grown more then a foot in the last 6 months. Hopefully it's still usable.
For his 8 year old sister, Rebecca. This one turned out much bigger than I thought, and is therefore bigger than Elizabeth's quilt. My mother was very good at making sure that presents for my sister and I were equal, and so I always worry when I give siblings things that are not perfectly equal, or in the case of quilts, bigger for the bigger kids. I'm sure it will be okay.
These are for our nieces Deziree and Jaiden. They are 4 and 2, and absolutely adorable.
This last one is for our nephew Draven. He is also adorable, but very shy, so he's less obviously so, although he still likes to show off, he just likes to hide behind his blankie while he does so.
I have a tendency to make all projects more complicated then they need to be. After getting married, I suddenly realized that I now had nieces and nephews, something I have always wanted, but
elfflame has never cooperated with this idea. I decided that in order to do this 'right' I had to get all the ones for people who live in Michigan done and send them off at once. When I started that meant 2 nieces, 1 nephew and 3 for my husband's under aged siblings. We went to visit last month and I discovered that I have another nephew on the way, my brother in law knocked up his girlfriend, and she has twins 2 year olds. There is no way I am going to send everyone a quilt but the twins, so that almost doubles the number of quilts I need to make. I've decided I'm going to have to make them in familial groups, and send them off that way.
