Long delayed updating

I have been looking through old pics, so I made myself some icons. This is my favorite, of me in my early cannibal phase.
The bump on the top of my head is a birthmark, which my parents said made me a unicorn, which explains my long running unicorn obsession. Mika told me once that it was because I swallowed a Barbie doll head and it rose to the top. You can decide which answer you like best.

My parents came to visit, which was great fun. I'd forgotten how long my Dad can walk around for, if you don't reign him in. We went to many, many bookstores, and I bought more books while they were here then I have in the last 5 years. Yay books!
We also went to SFMOMA, and looked at the Rauschenbergs. I really admire his chutzpah. The exhibit that I was really interested opens tomorrow, so we didn't get to see it. Now I'm going to have to go back, because I really like Chuck Close's work, at least, I liked the exhibit they had at SAM.

Oh! San Jose has the best free art museum I've ever been to. Unfortunately, I always try to go to downtown SJ on Fridays when they close a bunch of streets for a farmers market. I'll have to plan better next time.

I have about half of my Christmas presents done. Go me!

Our next door neighbors have a large black friendly lab. They keep her in their backyard all the time, which makes me want to run over there and yell at them. Such a cruel thing to do to a lab. They need their family.
The fence is starting to break where she lunges to try and get at people when they walk by the fence. It's been gradually inching forward and today I noticed that she was able to get her head and shoulder partway out. I pushed it closed, but now I'm really going to have to talk to her about it, as the dog barking and lunging was starting to scare people who came to visit us.
I don't have very high hopes for her actually fixing the problem. She frequently leaves her garbage can on the curb for 4 days after pickup. She parks in the middle of the driveway and then leaves in another car so that we have to squeeze our car by hers very carefully.

Canada's really big

I flew up to Seattle last week so [info]sugardivalish and I could drive to Canada together.
I have been spending every Halloween but one in Vancouver since 1998, trick or treating with Pam and Neil's kids.
This year, they had a Halloween birthday party for the older two of the children (17 and 14). It's really freaky to be at a party for teenagers. ALl their friends are really smart and interesting, and they kept engaging me in conversation, and then I would suddenly realize that I am twice this persons age. *shudder*
There are many pictures, but I can't find the cord for the camera, so it will have to wait until Walker gets home.
Random things:
I carved a Degas pumpkin.
Next year, if I want a costume, I won't finish one I started 2 years ago.
I would live in Vancouver in a heart beat, if Walker agreed.
I found 6 Seridipity books for $2.97!
6.5 lbs of cabbage is too much to fit in Pam's pot.
I need cast iron cookwear.
Vancouver has the best Morris Men.
Canadians make better BBQ chips then Americans.
Paste food colouring really is better.
